Help Someone Heal
One Toss at a Time

“A lot of people have lost access to a father figure and that is particularly true in the LGBTQIA+ community, where people often face a broken family after they come out.  A few minutes of playing catch is a way for these dads to say,

‘I see you, I support you, I respect you,’ and ‘I love you.  I am glad you are here,’”

Come, play catch with us

Healing can start with one simple act.

Play Catch with a Dad started with one simple idea.

Unfortunately, many LGBTQ+  have come out to their parents only to have their Fathers, Mothers or other family members begin to distance themselves or even cut contact entirely. Play Catch With A Dad was started in York, PA, for one purpose only, to help someone heal, if just a little bit, one toss at a time. A simple act of kindness with a parental figure simply playing catch and listening, can do wonders.   We are here to help.

Help us spread this simple idea

A donation of time or money can help us spread and try to bring a healing presence to those affected.

How we started

Some of the most effective ideas are also the simplest.  Here’s our story.

Years of Playing Catch and counting

More People with You

Donate Funds

As simple an idea as this is, there are many costs involved in bringing our idea to the people who need it most.  Festival registrations can run up to several hundred dollars and purchasing equipment, advertising and event insurance all add up.  Any amount you can share, will go directly to supporting our program.

Play Catch

Join us and spend even just a few minutes tossing a ball with someone and listening to them. There are few things as precious and rewarding as helping someone realize they do matter and that someone cares.  Drop us an email and we can let you know of upcoming events.

Donate Time

Help us with securing spots at different LGBTQ+ events in your area.  Help organize Volunteers. Spread the word. Start a Play Catch with a Dad chapter in your area. There are many ways you can help us help others.
